It might be more economical upgrade to the next level of plan to meet your ongoing data or talk needs. Then you can use your points as bill credits to reduce your bills.
Just be aware that once you upgrade, as a general observation, PM makes it very difficult for you to download back to a cheaper plan.
Your base plan should already included unlimited international text when you are in Canada, so you do not need one (unless you have the very old plan with limited text)
