Login to your self-serve account and read the refer-a-friend details from the box where you got your code.

It says: "Refer a friend and take $1 off your payment every 30 days for every friend you refer for as long as they stay with us. Your friend will also receive a one-time BONUS $10 credit!"

You, the referrer, will get $1 every 30 days as long as your friend with PM.  No one time credit.

Your friend, the referee, will get one time $10 credit 72 hours after activation.  No recurrence $1 credit every 30 days.

The standard deal is $10 credit for the new customer and $1/30 days reward for the existing customer. There have been promos where both get a credit.
