Referral Code and Bonus(?) referral code AND when do $5 discounted plans offers expire?

Bottomshelf

Hope everyone is doing well as can be expected during the pandemic.

I am currently a Public Mobile customer and planning to port my spouse's post paid Koodo Plan.

Question 1:  When do the $5 discounted plans offer expire?

In my account, I can see the referral code for the $1 discount each month.

While researching on the internet, I came across this "hot offer" for getting a $25 discount (discrepancy within the body of the offer that says $50) with the following:

"GET UP TO A $50 CREDIT FREE! Join Public Mobile using referral code xxxxxx or xxxxxx to get a free $50 credit for opening a new account!"

The website has "publicmobile" in the URL and says it is not endorsed by Public Mobile.

Question 2: Does anyone know if this offer is legitimate and current?

Question 3: If it is legitimate (and not expired), where does my spouse enter the "bonus" referral code or does the referral codes take the place of my code that is in my account? If that's the case, will I automatically get the $1/month discount?

Thanks in advance.

Stay safe and take care!

@Bottomshelf Sounds like you successfully ported over from Koodo. If you login in your wife’s account and tap on the hyperlink as shown on left side. It will take you to the activation page with the referral code added to this page. I don’t think there was a promo code since the price is set on the plan for Canada-wide calling and text before your cc info.

I just ported a phone number from Koodo and set up a new account.  If memory serves me correctly, the promotional code and referral code data entry fields were side by side; either just before or after entering the credit card info.

@Bottomshelf

That is correct but that is for a PROMOCODE only the referral code goes in a separate box somewhere between the first page and the last page and I'm guessing its the third page after the choose/port a phone number page. Public mobile has heard the feedback to return the referral code box to the first page.....hopefully soon.

Talk about a double whammy....remove the referral code link from our accounts and move the referral code box from the first page and bury it deeper into the activation portal pages.....

If I recall correctly, the promotion code data entry field is after entering credit card info. If not, just before credit card info.

The link in the account page is gone.

It is only Tell your friends to use this code XXXXXX when they activate with Public Mobile. And it seems like there's nowhere to enter the code in the activation page now.

New customers can still use a referral code during activation. However, the box to enter that referral code is no longer on the first page.

Who knows when the $5 discount on the Canada wide calling on the $25+ plans but it will be switched to Province wide calling.

The only current referral promo is:

- Your referral member gets one time $10 discount

- You get $1 discount off your 30 day plan or $3 discount off your 90 day plan.

- If you are on AutoPay, there is an additional $2 discount off your 30 day plan.

@Bottomshelf The 25$ is another promo that has expired, all you would get is the 1$ per 30days.

Thanks for your prompt response.

As you have stated, the $25 offer is no longer applicable but for arguments sake if it was valid would you theoretically not get $25 as opposed to your (lower) dollar value bonus which I believe is $1 for your own referral code?

Question 1:  When do the $5 discounted plans offer expire?

No one really knows when the Limited Time Offers will expire, however as early as March 16th is the popular belief, but nothing's been announced.

Please, DO NOT use referral codes others post online.  Use YOUR referral code for your husband's new service during his activation.   You'll BOTH save that way, not someone else who's trying to only benefit themselves.

The website has "publicmobile" in the URL and says it is not endorsed by Public Mobile.

Question 3: If it is legitimate (and not expired), where does my spouse enter the "bonus" referral code or does the referral codes take the place of my code that is in my account? If that's the case, will I automatically get the $1/month discount?

Thanks in advance.

@Bottomshelf

See my comments in red above.

Here's where your referral code is on your self-serve (in case you may not be aware):

There currently is no $5 discount on any plans. The prices simply hasn't been increased yet by $5 for the Canada-wide calling plans  No date has been announced for the price increased for Canada-wide plans.

Sorry, but there is no $25 offer to refer someone. That offer is long expired.  You can still refer your spouse, but all you'll receive is the $1 per 30 days. She enters your referral code during activation.
