Receiving texts in the wrong order / Text timeline jumbled up

Sometimes when I receive texts, the timeline gets jumbled up. I would see a text from a later time pop up on top or before a text from an earlier time which can be very confusing, especially when I'm looking back on a conversation.

For example, I text a friend "Hello, how are you?" and they reply "I'm fine, thanks". Supposedly my text should show up on TOP of his since I was the one to text him initially but sometimes his text would be the one on top even though I texted him first. It would end up looking like they texted "I'm fine, thanks." before I texted "Hello, how are you?"

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? I've been with PM for 3 years now and this has been an issue since day 1, I just never got around to making a post about it until now.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Smiley Very Happy

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Turns out I've only been a member for a year. It sure feels like 3 though considering how smooth and helpful PM is. It's been a while since I've experienced such awesome support especially for these types of telecommunication businesses. (I can't even remember how many times I've had to call Rogers about my internet in the last year!)

Thanks for being awesome guys!

@berettaboi Okay I just switched mine to "Automatic date/time-network set" like you suggested. Hopefully this fixes it! Will report back Smiley Happy

i used to see this the odd time when i had service with Telus.  i'm not sure of the exact issue, but try a few things to eliminate potentials.  check your clock settings, i have a few samsung phones, and always leave them on "automatic date/time-network set". it is possible that the other phone you're receiving texts from is actually time set a little early compared to yours. could be just a network issue too. sometimes the big computers at Telus need to be reset!

@srlawren Yea, I've tried that multiple times. Nothing changes unfortunately.

@kkum this may seem like a dumb question, but, have you rebooted recently?

My question would be are you both in the same timezone, or are you in different timezones?

I wouldn't expect this to be a problem, but one of your apps could be out of whack with the time syncing... eg. Eastern Time vs. Pacific time, or even daylight savings vs. standard time could do it, within the same timezone.

@kkum I had a problem like this before. On GS5.

It turned out that my time synchronisation was messed up. Had to disable it and enable it again

@CaNuCk07  Wow, first renewal and already 771 posts!! Thanks for being such a huge contributor to the community Smiley LOL

On another note, yeah I'm using a Galaxy S7 Edge on Android 6.0.1 (Samsung is always slow at rolling out the Android updates Smiley Indifferent ) I try to stay away from Apple though due to their proprietary-ness in all their products and limitations to OSs but I can see why many people stick with them due to their user-friendliness.

This should totally be fixed on Android though considering how dominating they are in the mobile market today. Good to know this isn't a problem on all platforms though!

@CaNuCk07  being an iSheep isn't the answer for everyone LOL( I am kidding)  I don't use Android or iOS and have experienced this.

That sounds just like the problem I'm having!

I don't really see any posts about it so just wanted to make sure the mods are aware of this issue.

A couple of weeks ago I was noticing that my replies were being time stamped and showing up before the message that was sent to me.  I haven't had that issue since but will keep an eye out for it.
