Receiving SMS or phone calls outside of North America

Hi,

I am traveling outside Canada at the moment. I have a line with Public Mobile, i was wondering if its possible to receive SMS when you are lets say in Dubai? If yes, how can change the settings?

Just to add to the RCS note above, if you are trying to get bank 2FA, then RCS won't help either.  Most 2FA are sent by SMS text only

@fawziali2001 , if you are running SMS in RCS format, you would be able to receive RCS formatted text anywhere in the world provided you have a data connection (WiFi or Mobile).

your Public Mobile service stops as soon as you leave Canada. If you wish to keep in contact with family and friends, you and those family/friends can both download the free WhatApp from the Google Apps store. You'll be able to communicate (talk and text) with other WhatsApp users in your contacts list using your local wifi or separately purchased data. It's an easy and free way to keep in touch whilst away.
