Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'll be porting a number away from Ooma next year (kid's first phone), so just wanted to ask if anyone has any recent experience doing this? The above instructions are from 2020, do they still work?

pretty much same instructions. Make sure you have a Canadian phone number, you cannot port US phone number here
make sure the Ooma account is active. You don't have to cancel it, it will be cancelled after the number is ported
there is no porting authorization text needed to port from VoIP carrier, but at the same time, the porting will take 3 to 7 days
