from public said "Phone number change successful" but the cell with chatr is stil working sending and receiving. The cell with Public mobile sim card can call out and caller id shows the number from Chatr but when someone calls that number it goes to the chatr cell?? and the have taken funds for the month of june and shows account still active??? I private messaged last night some one? moderator but no responce? i am new to public. can someone guide me in right direction (please) went to Public to try and save money and insted am paying both providers?
Just some basic troubleshooting ideas:
1 - Did you try powering off and on your phone
2 - Make sure in your phone's setting, Public Mobile is selected as your Network Operator
These steps helped me after my port.

The on-computer screen message is not an indication fo phone number porting success. It only means that Public Mobile has received your request and has assigned the phone number to your account. This happens before Chatr even responds to the request.
Since your Chtar service is still working, keep using that for now. Whenver someone calls you or sends you a message, they will all still go there anyway. This is the case until the phone number transfers to Public Mobile.
Since you say you made the request days ago, things should have been completed by now. Because of that, I would say that there is likely a problem with the request. Do yourself a favor and contact Chatr customer service and ask for your Chatr account number. Public Mobile will be asking for that when you contact them (Moderator_Team) so that they can resubmit the request on your behalf.

It appears to be affecting my ability to receive and send texts and calls from some of my contacts. I was able to unlock my phone and switch my number to Public on Thursday evening (two days ago). When my wife did it, her number disappeared from our Roger's account instantaneously, which is why I'm a bit worried about why mine didn't do the same thing. Can anyone offer any help with this?
Thanks!
Did you get a text message from Public Mobile saying that the phone number transfer was complete?
Incoming phone calls and text messages really should be going to one carrier or the other, and not a mixture of both. If your Rogers service is still working and incoming phone calls are still going to your Rogers phone line, your phone number has not been ported yet. Pop your Rogers sim card back and your phone and check to see what happens.

For the issue with texts and calls, did you try powering off your phone, then turning it back on?

Since the OP has already ordered the SIM, it won't be refunded. They might as well get the new, proper SIM mailed to them. Sure, cut the old SIM in the meantime if they can't wait, but get the replacement nevertheless.

You had an old (non tri-SIM?)
Cut the sucker in meantime so you can use it while awaiting new SIM
If mail lost mods will resend for free

To get a replacement for a SIM lost in the mail, the moderators will need the order number from the confirmation e-mail you received when you placed the original order. This number will usually be in the subject line of the e-mail. Be sure to include this in your private message to the mods.
