That's what I done at the beginning. I got the esim with a new number and do the porting but CS Agent told me they could transfer it only if I could provide the account number which I already told them there wasn't one. And they couldn't help with it even I had provided the IMEI. However, another team I called could finally solve it. The sadness was I checked with CS team multiple time before subscription and activation if my number could be carried forward and they all told me it can. And no more real time CS conversation after my activation.

It's a super new company named Kini which also using Telus network. And I don't know how they fix my issue, the only thing I know is they can help me to transfer my number with IMEI and no need an account number.

Very interesting. Thank you for sharing. Honestly, if I had that information at first, I would have suggested you sign up with PM, get a temporary number and make sure the entire service from calling and taking calls works along with texts and data. Then contact a CS Agent to help with the porting since it's not on their list. Since it's a newer company, hoping that CS Agent who helped you has the foresight to share that information with his management to eventually add them to companies to port from list to make it an easier process.

Hi @Chalupa_Batman

Thanks so much for replying on my post. I have provided all the information I have to Public Mobile but the issue was 1. my previous carrier is a small new company which is not on the carrier list in PM. 2. I couldn't provide an account number from my previous carrier as it's a prepaid card without any account number.

I had talked to the agent the whole morning but can't get it solve until now I finally got someone to fix it after the call.

Hey @nicolengns

For my continuing educational purpose of the mobile industry, if I can ask, which mobile service was it? And do you by chance know what exactly they did to resolve it?

Hello @nicolengns

There are a few things to consider here. What type of number are you porting over? Cellular or land line? Landlines can take up to 7 days. Cellular can take a few hours.

When you requested your number be ported over to PM, did you leave your other providers SIM in your phone? They would have sent you a porting request text in which you have an hour and a half to reply with YES. If you got that and said yes then place your old providers SIM card back in your phone and see if their name is still at the top or if it says SOS. If it says SOS then the port worked. You just need to shut down your phone, insert the PM SIM card in and reboot. Your service SHOULD be up. Give those a try before calling anyone.
