Agreed! My phone was shut off because I didnt pay correct amount. I had checked website and seen all the payments etc. This was super inconvenient because I had NO idea why phone was shut off. Then I saw a solution, add a dollar to account, phone immediately activated. I am assuming this was the gst amount or something. I dont know.
Alls I know is it SAID on the credit/debit page that 23 dollars had been paid by my credit card the previous month, but it was actually, on my credit card statement 23 something(I had it on auto debit)
this is very confusing and misleading.

The $1 is a bit of a workaround trick to kick start the service sometimes. Not tax.
The $23 is the amount before tax. The tax actually gets charged at the payment card side or when purchasing a voucher. It doesn't show up in the payment history of the self-serve.
