Hey,
I just got an AMEX also and I figured out the issue if you haven't gotten it.
Assuming everything is filled out accurately, it will ask for CVV2,
this is the four digit code that's on the front of the card beside the "tap to pay" symbol.
It is not the 3 digit number on the end of the back of the card.
Hope this fixed it.
