RCS stuck on "Setting Up"

I have been a public mobile customer for 8 months.  RCS has always worked.  Today I had to switch my US number from att back to tmobile.  RCS with Public connected but tmobile didn't.  i turned off tmobile and restarted the phone and finally tmobile turned on but my public mobile keeps saying setting up.  I have cleared cache, data, uninstalled reinstalled.  Disabled my other number  all to no avail  Public is stuck on setting up. I have thrown my hands up at this point

if you are not in Canada now, I think that is the reason, you need to be on the network of that phone number to register.

I will leave it off.  Have been using public mobile as the main whenever I am in canada.  I am just frustrated that I have been dealing with RCS issues for 5 years.  off and on. Had a smoth run for almost 2 years and then it just stops.  Its pulling at my last nerve and its so fragmented with android.  I have been loyal since 2008 but I may just jump to a platform that works and unfortunately that is apple. 

Dual sim support should be out of beta now.

No, i don't think it is an issue with Public Mobile.  Try re-register RCS  after 24 hours (and you have Public Mobile network active now? you probably cannot do that if you are in TMobile network only )

I'm on the beta and everything has worked flawless since November for me.  I've even switched devices and back several times and never has an issue. I'm wondering if this is a public thing

RCS for dual sim support is only a recent thing, since Jan or so. Make sure your RCS is on the latest version

but some people said it didn't work well, it crashes.

Unfortunately that doesn't work. uS sim connects public says setting up, trying to verify number

Good to know. Didn't port a us number. Just switched carriers with us mobile.

if I read it correctly, you didn't port your US number to Public Mobile, you just port your US number to T-Mobile.

in your RCS case, try uninstall Google Message (it will in fact restore back to the version it came with the phone), then reboot your phone, reinstall (or it might show update) Google Message.   (you might need to enable RCS for both sims agian) and  It should then work.

You can’t port an American number over to PM. You can only port a Canadian number through the PM app. Also the website and app are down under maintenance.
