Purchasing new eSIM?

I got a new phone recently and tried to transfer the eSIM over, but somehow it doesn’t allow me to do it. And I had to end up purchasing another eSIM on the app. Just want to check if this is normal? Thank you!

@2165166safd   YES  it normal , You can’t transfer eSIM instead , you need to download public mobile app on new phone and login to your account and rebuy new eSIM as you have done , the system should detect you have eSIM now and be free at check out , if you happen to get charged after check out just message support and the will give you credit for the eSIM . And you will keep same phone number and plan no worries 

adding @2165166safd  should you need support you can use the orange chat icon bottom right of screen for credit if needed
