Problems with SMS messages not being received.

Hello,

I'm having problems with SMS messages. Occasionally, when sending a message it is either not received by the recipient or takes a long time to arrive.

The messages have been sent, but some recipients have mentioned never receiving my texts.

Can anyone provide some guidance to help me work out this issue.

Thanks,

Eric.

@ef130968 are these delayed or not received at all?

There have been other discussions about delayed SMS, as posted by @mimmo

Try: force stop, clear cache of messaging app. also try clearing data of messaging app in settings.

Hi @ef130968

This could be a case of either the sender and/or receiver having chat or iMessage settings enabled.

If Android, try adjusting Chat messages options.

  1. tap Messaging app,
  2. tap 3 little dots top right,
  3. select Settings,
  4. under Chat settings, scroll to "Select default messaging type",
  5. toggle it to Automatic or Text/multimedia msg

For Apple, adjust the iMessage settings:

  1. tap the Settings app,
  2. tap Messages,
  3. turn  iMessage off by toggling the switch to grey from green.

Remove your phone’s battery - Some phones have removable batteries. Sometimes removing and reinserting the battery can fix certain issues. Just make sure your phone is off before you do this.
