Is anyone else concerned that public mobile actually retains private information although they say they delete it when you close your account? I was told that all my data would be deleted when my account was closed but the fact that I can login here and ask this question clearly shows that was untrue. An agent said I can't close this account, ever. I believe that the BC privacy laws forbid the retention of private information without my consent.

I would imagine there is a retention period where they have to keep your records, even after you close your account. Likely 7 years.
The Community forum account is separate from your phone like account. Separate logins. I don't have my phone account access anymore either, but I still have this forum account.

These are concerns to be taken up with the Telus priacy department. They can be contacted at privacy@telus.com .
