Possible to port number but assign a new number to account?

I've accepted the offer to move to Koodo, and am looking at porting my number over. Would it be possible to assign a new number to my current Public Mobile after the port and keep that account for one of my kids?

 

Ideally, I'd like to just toss a new number onto the account after the port, and have them continue on with it.

No sorry that is not possible.  Once you port out your number your account is closed.  If you change your number prior to porting you lose your number.  The offer is for you to migrate your plan to Koodo not start a new account there and keep yours here.
