Hello, I am moving overseas and porting my PM number to a voip service. I put in the request last Thursday and just got FOC date of May 27 from PM. My plan is set to renew tomorrow, is there any way to avoid this? Can I cancel my PM service without affecting the porting out? Or can I keep my PM service by changing to a new number? Please help!

HI @JudgeTredd
you don't need to cancel and don't
after porting is done, it will be cancelled itsellf
if account not closed yet, it means porting not done. If you cancelled it ahead, the port won't completed

Thank you. I submitted a ticket as you suggested. Since my number was already released by PM, it looks like I can cancel my service right away and won’t be billed for another cycle.

Changing you plan is probably your best choice but you could also open a ticket and ask them if they will do anything for you. Unlikely but couldn't hurt to ask.

Thank you, the account is active though. Can I change to a new number while I wait for the current one to be ported? Will I keep my plan in that case?

hi @JudgeTredd
sorry, you cannot do anything with the account here, it needs to be active. Porting to/from VoIP provider always take long
what you can do now is to change the plan to $15 (which is a voice only plan), and so the renewal would be just $15 , hope that cuts the cost down
