There has been no luck so far - the port does not seem to have worked. When I call the number now, it says there is no transfer request for the number and then boots me to koodo

what you see now is normal before the port is completed
if the Rogers line still works, it means port is done. Wait 30 mins , disable Roger eSIM and reboot phone and call your number from another phone to test if PM sim works

Okay - right now my phone has both lines (my old Rogers and the new PM) line active - the Rogers is still functioning as the main line (and receiving calls/texts/etc.). Will this cease to function properly when the port is done (and only the PM will work?). Right now the PM line (when I toggle Rogers off) can use data and do outgoing calls, but incoming calls and sending/receiving texts do not work.

With your PM sim card in the phone, you can wait an hour, reboot phone and check if you can receive incoming calls with your PM sim card. If you can receive the calls, the port is all done. If you are not receiving incoming calls, wait another hour and try again

When porting is completed. Your iPhone should switch from SOS to PM. This could take up to 2 hours to complete.

I called in and they seemed to say they managed to do the transfer / it will complete in some time. How will I know when the transfer is properly completed on PM's end?

yes, it is safer to provide account number instead of IMEI. Call them and provide them the correct account number.
again, if you cannot reach a support person or if they say they cannot help, please open ticket as advised above

I did receive that text and I did reply YES. Immediately after that, received a text from PM saying: "Hey, it's Public Mobile. We're having trouble transferring your number. Looks like you entered an incorrect ESN/MEID. Someone from our team will contact you shortly using your original phone number or the alternate number provided."

what was the issue?
A critical part to porting is to receive a text from your old provider and you have to reply YES within 90 mins. If you are not receiving calls and text on your PM sim card, and only outgoing calls work, then you might have missed the step and hence porting was not completed
There is a number to call to talk to live support, they can provide you the update and/or re-trigger the process for you. I will message the number to you via the Community inbox ( https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/privatenotespage ) . Check the envelope icon on top right. Call them and get it fixed
But if you are unable to reach a live support with the phone number I sent you, please open ticket using Public Mobile Expert Messaging , Select Start a Chat to begin (You will need to use your current Community account to login to submit the ticket):
