I am porting my cell number back from a corporate plan. Will it transfer over smoothly if the plan is under the company name (when I initiate a request through Public Mobile). Or, do I have to get the plan put into my own name first? Thanks.

@Tiberius13 most of the info being posted will work for INDV/EPP type corp accounts
If you have any of the other types there ARE additional steps to port
Simply entering in account number will not work
If you pay your own bill (even if company reimburses you) usually it is not a "true" corp account
But if under corp liability (INC) you NEED to set the port out flag on old carrier BEFORE you request a port
IMEI/ESN/MEID numbers can be problematic. Some carriers systems do not update automatically in real time (eg 7-11 is terrible for this) and as such most carriers recommend using account number

@Tiberius13 you could provide IMEI as ESN but it's not generally recommended, though I think it works for some carriers such as Chatr. Most providers seem to work best with just account number. You will need to provide the name on record with the current provider as the authorizing name on the port request field, not your own.

Its better not to use those info as there have been problems with porting due to using those info. They can be not accurate as there might be device switch on that account. Its best to use Account#.

You probably can using account# and company name. But i am not too sure, mods or someone who has done it can confirm this. @Shazia_K

The account number is the important piece of information PM requires for the port. In fact, it's recommended that you use this rather than IMEI or PIN when porting. As long as you do in fact have authority to port the number, then check the box indicating "I am authorized to port this number", and it should work fine. PM also recommends to separate the activation from the porting to avoid errors.
