I've had trouble with several providers porting my Yukon (867) phone number to a local provider. Before I sign up, are you able to confirm that I can port this number to Public mobile?

Yukon does not have many choices for service provider. Public mobile uses Telus and the system will only take your number if your phone number is originated from Yellowknife or Whitehorse. If not from those 2 cities, sorry, Telus system cannot take your number

because of some location setup problem, not all numbers can be ported.
check here:

if it says your number cannot be ported, then Telus does not have some kind of technical hub there and hence cannot take your number into PM. This is not uncommon if your number from rural area
