While numbers can be ported in afer the activation is completed, there is a limit to the number of changes to your phone number that you can make during each month.
If you've already made a phone numbrer change, the system will not let you do it again.

@Shayne1, welcome to Public Mobile. Yes! You can absolutely port in a number after you registered with a new number. As long as the number you want to port in is still active with your previous provider.
Just log into your self service portal, and go to Plan and Add-ons. From there click on Change Phone Number. You will then see the option Transfer a wireless or...
Just follow the prompts from there. If you have any issues, just ask!

Yes you definitely can.
Log in selfserve, and click on Change Number on the right side. It will give you the option to port your number.
