When porting over a phone number, your previous mobile company will send you an sms and you must reply "yes" within 90 minutes to trigger the porting. Twice in the past when I replied "yes" to the sms, my response would not go through. Has anyone else had this issue? The only work-around for me was to call my previous mobile company and have them validate the yes/porting manually over the phone. I have no idea why I can't respond to porting validation requests.

Not sure why? Maybe just bad luck.
Interestingly it was with two different mobile companies that had same issue.

Once I was porting from Virgin to Fido and recently I was porting from Fido to Public. Number was active, account was in good standing, I received the text and I replied "yes" within 90 minutes. Once I replied, nothing happen when normally you would get a confirmation after you reply "yes". When I called Virgin/Fido to ask if they received my yes response they said that they did not.

Are you porting into Public mobile? Or porting out?
Is your present carrier phone number active? The original carrier account needs to be active for a successful port.
