How long does it take to port over a mobile number. I started this process yesterday morning and have now been without service for over 24 hours. I received a text from Public Mobile stating that my porting had been complete, but I am still without service and no phone. Worse yet Public mobile doesn't even have a telephone number to speak to a human. I am supposed to travel in the next day or two and now I don't have a phone! This is ridiculous.

What phone are you using?

Thank you. I did this several times as well as reset my Network and still nothing...

Hi,
After a port out/ you need to power cycle your phone. Turn off completely and back on.
hope this help.

A number porting was requested and I received a text last night after 9 hours telling me that number was successfully ported and welcome to Public Mobile. PM must have ported my number otherwise it would still be working on my old service, which it is not. PM has left be stranded with no working mobile.

Your phone showing only SOS isn't related to number porting. There could be a porting issue, but SOS is more related to the set up of your Public Mobile account and could happen even if I number port hadn't been requested.

I also called the recommended porting number and no help!!!

hi @Casola
what is "nothing"?
can you at least make calls? data work? you see the sim showing connected? or SOS?
yesterday
Yes I did both and nothing

hi @Casola
did you reboot the phone after you see the text about port completion?
Reboot phone and then click Reset network settings and test inbound and outbound calls.

I did get a text from my old carrier to which O replied YES. That was in the morning and then last night 8 hours later I received a text from PM saying the number port had been successful but it hasn't. I cannot receive any calls because my new PB service is not working and my old service was disconnected. I have never had a number porting take more than 30 minutes. This is embarrassing. Shame on Public Mobile. Totally unacceptable.

hi @Casola
porting can take 1 to 4 hours, but because of the high number of activation, it can take even longer these couple days
Did you get a text from the old carrier, did you reply Yes within 90 mins?
and can you receive inbound phone calls, especially from Non-Telus/Koodo/PM phone? If you cannot the port was not done
It could be an incomplete port. PM porting support team can help. I have sent you the porting support team number. Please check your Community inbox (https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/privatenotespage), check for the number and call.
And in case the poring team cannot help and ask you to submit ticket (or you rather submit ticket anyway), you can submit ticket by direct message:
