During the sign up it said if I was porting a number from PC MOBILE or KOODO to choose "new number" now then later contact us to port it.
I can't figure out how to contact anyone to port my koodo number into my new public mobile phone plan.
Help please 🙂
Thank you muchos

@RobertQc Agreed, **bleep** annoying.
If you need to make calls while waiting for the cure, try your Koodo SIM as it may still be working, or try an application like that from fongo.com. It provides free calling across Canada from wherever you are connected to wifi.

Looks like the port got stuck, will take 24-48 hours.
I really wish they would have said "Don't use the same e-mail if you are coming from koodo otherwise it will break our system" since this is a known bug...

Thank you so much, I contacted the mod team with all the info they asked and I am sure they will help 🙂

@RobertQc I guess I'm not as seasoned as some of the others on this forum to know the Koodo issues. When I search for it the first couple forum items said that the self-service port was fine. I'd send the @CS_Agent a message to get them to look into it, they should be online so hopefully they'll respond quickly and get you sorted out.

I wish it was more specific and said use a different e-mail address if you are coming from Koodo, because it would have made this much easier for me. So far stuck in limbo, my public mobile phone is not working at all since attempting to port, I cant text, cant make calls.

Hi @RobertQc,
The reason is because it is a known common glitch that sometimes when new subscribers coming from Koodo will experience issues registering to Public Mobile when using the same e-mail address, and therefore, resulting in the number not being ported properly.
My guess is that Public Mobile wanted to ensure users were able to complete the sign up process successfully before porting their number and do not want new users to get stuck in limbo if they ported their numbers off the bat in the case they use the same e-mail.
Nonetheless, time will tell whether your porting was successful. It typically takes about 15mins-3 hours for the port to complete.
Report back to us and let us know whether all went well 🙂

Ok thanks I followed your instructions and did it in self-serve.
I just don't understand why it say'd DONT PORT KOODO... but then 1 minute later it was okay to do it myself.
So I did it, I hope everything will be ok?

I believe you can follow the steps from Simon the chat bot but if you're nervous about it, contact the @CS_Agent first in a Private Message with your details and ask them to be sure.
Here's what Simon says:
