Hi, I recently got my phone stolen (along with the Public Mobile SIM inside). I desperately needed a new phone, so I bought a plan with Koodo and they ported my phone # over to their system. I plan on returning to Public Mobile when I can opt out of Koodo's plan (3 months from now).
My questions are:
1) I paid my bill ($105 in total) back in August for the services in September, October, and November. Is it possible to get a portion of those funds back now that my phone's lost?
2) In this case, is my account automatically deactivated? Will the bills from Public Mobile still come if I don't deactivate it manually? The self-serve site is currently under maintenance now, so I have no way to check.
3) If I return to Public Mobile 3 months from now with a new Public Moblile SIM card and a new phone, can I still use my old account (i.e. the account with the phone# that just got ported over to Kodoo)? If not, what happens to the add-ons I purchased on that account?

Lol, don't ask unless you are looking to rub salt into the wound.

Hey @sbs260,
1. As PM is prepaid, there will be no refunds. So the money you paid is gone.
2. The moment you ported out from PM, your PM account is automatically deactivated. No action needed. PM doesn't send any bills so that question is irrelevant.. everything at PM is prepaid.
3. Your old account is gone. Deactivated permanently and you simply have to start fresh. You can, however, port your number back from Koodo to your new PM account and keep the same number.

The answers are No x 3. This is a prepaid service, no refunds. The account automatically closed on the number port. There is no further charges. A SIM card can only be used once. You will need a new one. A closed account can't be reopened. BTW, all you need to do is go into your account and report stolen phone, get a new SIM card and do the SIM swap and purchase a new phone.
