Hi
I just reviewed my payment, and found out that I have been charged $5. The message shows : 3G usage price increase is $5/mo.
I would like to understand why there is an additional $5 charge on my bill and whether this fee can be waived.

By the time March 2027 swings around. You would have paid $45 plus taxes if you have the same phone. End result is that your old phone will stop making or receiving calls with the 3G shutdown. Mind as well put the $45 into a new VoLTE phone that will work in making and getting calls.

You should've received an sms from Public Mobile around the end of April advising of this new fee.
The phone you have is no longer compatible with Public Mobile for making phone calls so they will charge you the additional $5 each renewal until you get a compatible phone. Once the shutdown happens in March 2027 , if you still have the same phone, you will no longer be able to make and receive phone calls.

Most people got notification of this a month ago, but if you missed it, here is some info, you need a phone that supports VoLTE with Public.
