How do I remove the credit card Public Mobile has on file? When I go to manage the card, it only allows my to update a new card, rather than just remove it.

the PM customer can't edit out the credit card info themselves. You're right...they can change it..just can't remove it altogeather. There's several reason why a customer would want to remove cc info. Some simply don't trust technology to protect the info. Others are just happy to pay using vouchers. Some customers will only want cell service for a short period of time like a month or two. Without credit card info on file, customer can walk away without risk.

If you only have one payment method it cannot be removed I believe, but if you add another payment method the previous one can be removed. Also you can ask a customer service agent to remove it for you if you wish; https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437
While they probably will honor the request (I cannot guarantee as I haven't done this); having no payment method also means your subscription will cancel or won't go through.
