Basically, once you tell them you want to port a number to them from another active provider, it's all on them to ensure this happens.
You're only requirement is to reply "YES" to the port authorization text with your Public Mobile SIM card in your device, within 90 minutes.
At that point, replace with the new provider SIM card and the port will complete.
If you run into any troubles, ensure to contact the NEW provider to rectify.

Make sure your PM account is active. Thenlogin to your PM account, get the account number from the Profile page
And when you activate the new account with the new service provider, give them your account number and phone number
make sure you turn wait for PM to send you a text for your approval to port, you need to reply with 90 min
