So I 've looked up my phone several times and it is 100% compatible with the network...but nothing works, I activated the SIM in store on Feb. 26/19 at approx. 18:05 as well as paid for my PPD plan. I am using an android ( Asus Zenfone 3 Max ZC520TL), which I will admit....I dont' like them, I bought a cheap one after selling my iPhone 8 to help pay my rent, so maybe I am missing something? but I have gone through all the settings a hundred times. Nothing uploaded on its own either, I had to go in and input the APN and even my original phone number I had no idea what it was, the store never gave me a copy of my "plan" and I couldn't log into the self serve stuff without it, I did eventualkyy get lucky and remembered it and set up my account and all, I changed the phone number as that one was not seeming to work very well, now I am having issues with everything, the "4G finally comes up on my phone, but it doesn't really work, texts rarely send and I am not receiving hardly any, I tried calling my number from a landline, its just dead air then automated VM comes on, I can't even call out or access my VM. Seems to be a lot of issues. Is it the SIM Card? but it does send/receive texts sometimes, not often, never makes/receives calls. I've had this plan for less than 48 hrs and I already want to go back to my old PPD provider Chatr as it really isn't any more expensive but for how much more it is.....it'd be worth it as I never had any service problems and there was somebody I could talk to on the phone if I needed help with something. so if this issue can't be resolved i the next 12 hrs can I get a full refund? I am on a fixed income so I can't afford to be putting all this money out on phone plans.
When a person goes to your website and the first step in the process to see if your device is compatible or not and it say's that it is, you'd think you can believe it am I not right? instead of then later reading comments I never knew existed saying you can't go by the website provided. What is up with that?

My son had the Asus Zenfone 3 Max ZC520TL and it worked on PM without any issues except just like in you case the APN had to be entered manually.
Also disable Automatically select network in the settings and manually select the Network operators and make sure you select Public Mobile 4G as the provider. Once you make the change It should respond with "registering phone on Public Mobile". Once done check the APN to make sure that sp.mb.com is selected. Hopefully that helps.

Give this a try...take the sim card out and carefully put it in the other sim slot. Cycle phone off / on. See if that works and let us know. Good luck.

@BandersonTry updating your phones software, and try your SIM in the other SIM card slot (you should have 2).
Did you buy the phone in Canada or online?
