Not receiving texts or voicemails after swapping to another sim card.

I may have an uncompleted transfer, but I never received the message for the confirmation. I put in the right IMEI number details but then PM told me I put the details in "wrong" and that an associate would reach out. For reference I'm porting a number from a 7-11 pay per call top up.

I ended up swapping the sim cards too early and noticing the call and data worked, without knowing the text and voicemail would be down until I re-ported the number. Should I submit another ticket? Help! (This is my first time buying a plan 😞 so I was a little confused by the instructions )

also, 711 does not provide confirmation, they might not even send you the porting authorization text.  The porting could take 6 hours. So, after you contacted PM porting team with the correct info, wait 6 hours and call 711 and check to see if they got the porting request and if they have processed it

Yes, you need to open a ticket to get Public Mobile customer support agent retry the number porting. As for those text messages and voicemail messages, you should have access to them if you re-insert your old carrier's SIM card.  The old carrier's SIM card needs to be in your phone to ansewr the text message to authorize the number transfer.

Some notes about porting from 711

  • For porting info, please use "PIN only" will work. Public only allows a 9 or 11 digit account number entry, and Speakout doesn't require it, and even if it did, it would be the phone number which is 10 digits.
  • If  you provide proting info using the IMEI,   providing from your current phone might result in a failed porting attempt
Speakout uses the IMEI at time of activation or at some point in your account history, not the IMEI currently on the network.
This means that for older Speakout accounts, you might need the IMEI from a phone several years ago.
So, You can call into Speakout customer service and provide them the IMEI that you have to see if it matches what they have on the account. If it does, then you can port with the IMEI only, instead of the PIN.
If you no longer have access to that IMEI, they will not disclose the IMEI to you, and you will have to ask Public Mobile to port via PIN only.

Once you sorted out with 711, you can contact porting team again and provide the correct info.  Will send you the poritng team support number to your Community inbox
