This sounds to me then to be a provisioning problem on Public Mobile's end. If Freedom Mobile hadn't yet approved or even if they rejected the request, your Freedom Mobile service should still be working.

The message says the number you are calling is not assigned and I did not cancel my freedom number prior to porting.

It is ported number. But when people call me it says number is not assigned.

Porting from freedom mobile takes 30 minutes. I did so my accounts and for friends. The timing was literally identical each time. This is definitely a stuck port. Moderator team support will be required to resubmit the port as already discussed.

This port is long overdue to be complete. A number must have active service attached to port the number. Was the Freedom Mobile number still active when you made the request? You absolutely should not be getting a number not assigned message when calling it.
Out of curiousity, is the message "20T1 The number you care calling is not assigned." or similar in a professional, business-like voice or is it a young female's voice sounding like she's trying to be "cool" by saying "The number doesn't exist"? I ask because that will give a hint at where the number is being routed. The standard, more professional sounding recording would be an indication of it being sent to Telus, while hearing the "The number doesn't exist" in a teenage sounding voice would be an indication of Freedom still handling the phone number.
What should have happened (assuming that you didn't mistakenly first cancel your Freedom Mobile service) is that the incoming calls should have kept ringing at the Freedom end (and you could have answer all these phone calls) up until the very moment that it got switched over to Public Mobile.
Either way, only the moderators can help you with an issue like this.

Yeah that's exactly what it sounds like. Especially if outgoing is working but not incoming. What number shows up when you call someone or shows up in your phone details? Is it the ported number or the new temporary number?

Porting can theoretically take a few days, but since we know this customer is porting from Freedom Mobile, it should not. We're talking a couple or few hours. Since it's been 3 days, there's definitely a problem. Waiting before contacting a moderator is unlikely to accomplish anything, other than making the customer wait longer to get a working phone number.

It looks like an incomplete port. You probably should private message one of the moderator to check on your port. It will take at least 1-2 days for the moderator to respond unfortunately and resolve your issue.
Here is instructions to contact moderator:
Recommendation: do not send multiple message to moderators. Each new message will put you further down the job list.
Or just send a private message through the following link :

Please include in the private message your account number and PIN code.
