Is Public Mobile having issues at the moment. I am in Montreal 514 area code. Also in montreal its 438 area code for another cell company. Some 438 numbers work and some are not working. When I try to call it says sorry it's not part of your plan you have to do an add-on. Even when that person calls me they get my voicemail.
How can I get this fixed?

Somebody earlier in the thread mentioned trying to dail it as +1438xxxyyyy. You mentioned you tried dialing with the 1. Have you tried '+1'? They are different. '1' on it's own signifies long distance calling. '+1' is the 'location' identifcation (I believe that's what it's called) for the mobile number.
Although it may be a local call, it is a different area code than yours, and for whatever reason, Public Mobile seems to be slow in updating the calling areas allowed within the provinces. I live in a somewhat small City in Southern Ontario, and a call to someone with a 519 area code, in the same City acts the same way (or did) when I first joioned Public Mobile. A ticket was created to add the area code and exchange to the allowed calling list (as far as I know it to be).

Two people same area code 438. One person all calls work fine second person can't call and when they call it goes to voicemail.
I will message the mods as suggested.
Thank you

If you were able to call them before but it doesn’t work now it is likely a switch (or similar) issue on either PM or Fido’s end of things that isn’t connecting the call properly. I highly doubt it’s account related.
A mod should be able to confirm on which side the problem lies.

Oh ok - just to be clear, is it ONE number you are having problems with or several? Just that your first post mentioned multiple numbers but from this last post I'm reading it as one particular number.
In any event, do what the others suggested and ask the mods if there's any problems in your area or with your account first. 🙂

@Jb456, you will need to contact the mods and let them look into this.

@will13am Derp. Of course. PM doesn’t offer LOCAL calling packages.
Obviously too early in the morning for my brain to work properly. 😂

I would ask the mods to look into it.
How can you get help with your account, activation, or service?

Is it possible that’s the issue here?
For province wide calling plans, all area codes within the province should be a "local" call. I think Public Mobile has issues with resolving which calls are covered and which are not. I recall in my early days with this service, I had issues making toll free calls. Some went through and some were not allowed because I didn't have a long distance add on.

Were you able to call these numbers previously? If so, when did this problem start happening?

I tried adding a 1 still does not work. Says sorry we can't complete your call. You don't have an active long distance plan and it's not covered please do an add-on.
Yet another friends number starting with same area code works perfectly.

@Jb456, do you put +1 in front of your number? If not try that.
