No service

I opened an account picked my plan and paid. I asked to have my old number transferred. My number is associated with Magic Jack right now which does not receive texts. I have recreated my account three times and it still wants to send a code number via text. I have absolutely no services. Now what ??

I still have Magicjack service but nothing from Public Mobile. It did say I would have some service after setup but I have nothing. What next ? Do I delete everything and start over or switch to Bell (lol) Account setup seemed pretty straight forward and I did get an account number etc. ???????

When you mention no service, do you mention that there is no longer any service from Magic Jack or that Public Mobile is providing no service? If you have no Public Mobile service, this wouldn't actually be a number porting issue but rather an issue with the set up of your new Public Mobile account.

@Bagel2001 yes, you won't get the login text untill the number is ported.  And porting from VoIp providers like Magic Jack will be around 3 to 7 business days

But you might be able to use email to receive the code.  Try this to unlock it

  1. Reset your password to self service account. Once reset, sign in again with new password. Might be able to receive 2FA via email instead to gain access.
(!!!You will need to click Resend Code and then Send email to trigger the 2FA to email)
  2. Potential workaround (for some): If you don't have access to SMS OTP, try entering an incorrect OTP code 4 times. For some individuals, this is giving the option of an email instead.
