Been a PM customer for a couple years now with no issues and out the blue I have lost service. I've messaged the mods, but wondering if anyone else knew any tricks in the meantime that might fix.
iPhone 7, have hard reset and pulled SIM and replaced with a Koodo SIM which works fine.

Turned out that the SIM card was defective. After replacing with a new one and having the Mod team switch everything over, everything works now.

It could be sim no lose contact with phone.
Do yo have other phone to test with, sim card might not work suddenly.

Ya both SIMs are of the same locale and the PM SIM doesn't work in the other phone either. Is it possible the SIM is defective?

Doubtful since Koodo works. I would assume this test was done at the same locale.

Does the Public Mobile SIM card work on a different phone?

Account status is active and I'm paid up until November.

Have you logged into self serve to see what the status says on your account? If it is active or suspended?
