Good day. I was given an SX11 for Christmas.  It's a cute phone; all the phone services work, but no data, mms or sms.

The APN settings are greyed out and I can't edit them.

Surprisingly,  this doesn't seem to be a regular occurrence because there are so few results from Google.

 

Does anyone have a suggestion?

You are 100% correct, making calls using 3G isn't the issue. Other phone features however may be an issue. As well, folks are often now signing up for the Canada US Mexico plan and if they are using phones like this or not on the VoLTE list, then they are in for a rude awakening.  As you know, I can use my Cat S22 flip phone on the Public Mobile 3G network with no problems. I can still use data and text and such. My biggest problem is I can't use my phone in the US with a US addon or Canada US plan. 😞

If you can make calls and you see the 3G symbol on the screen during the call, that's a forsure sign the phone isn't compatible with the network.
