No Service and Number Ported from Telus

Hey everyone, my phone number got ported from Telus with the help from someone at Public Mobile via email. They said that after a power cycle I would be good to go, but unfortunately it's still not working. Tried rebooting everything and it doesn't work. My Telus account was cancelled as of yesterday so that SIM doesn't work and now I am unable to receive any texts or calls which is a a real inconvenience.

The last response I received from the Community Specialist said that as long as my phone is unlocked and compatible with their network I should be able to use the PM sim card without any issues, however it it still not working. My sister successfully got her PM SIM card activated. When I put her SIM card into my phone, it works. But when I put my SIM card into her phone, it still doesn't work and says No Service. Would this mean that my SIM card is potentially defective? Or is there another issue?

If my number was successfully ported, and my account shows 'active' with Public Mobile, if I were to get a new SIM card, would I still have the same number that was ported with Telus?

I understand it takes a while to get a response from the moderators and email so thought I'd ask the Community for any help.

Thanks in advance!

Ordered a new SIM card in case that is the issue but it would be nice to confirm if it is defective. I think the Moderators are able to check that.

It might be defective or just as likely, the sim card was never properly provisioned to your account.  The moderator should be able to check that for you and have the system do it for you if it hasn't.

If you do need to change to a new sim card, that doesn't change your phone number.

In your account do the numbers for your active SIM match the back of the one you have? If so, then you may have a defective SIM.
