My son has an iPhone SE 2nd gen and subscribes to the 5G plan. He runs it on LTE. The 5G plan is not really about accessing 4G vs 5G but instead the speed that PM allows when you connect.

you can’t change your plan as it’s no longer available, the only available plans are $19 1GB 4G, $29 10GB 4G
The $34, $40, and $50 plans are all available to existing customers. There are no plans that require the phone to use the 5g network.

The second gen does allow the use of 4G LTE. If you have a 5G speed plan it will have a faster speed cap even while connected to LTE.

Plan data speed cap has nothing to do with network.

@B-rad1 , go to the subscription and add-on tab in your self serve account and you will see the plans available to you. Note that the 3G/4G/5G designations on plans refer to the data speed throttling limit. All plans give you access to the 3G/4G/5G network, subject to hardware compatibility.

Apparently se 2020 doesn't offer 5g only 3g and lte show up in settings

@B-rad1 , did you restart your phone? Are you living close to towers to be able get 5g services?
Even if it's not working, you still get great speed.
However, I don't think you will be able to get back your original plan, as most plans are for new activations only.
Sign into your account and review available subscriptions. You can only switch to what shows up when you sign in.
Usually no credits or pro rated amounts given so best to schedule the change for next renewal which will be for early August or end of July based on your plan date.

It depends on which generation iPhone SE you have. 1st and 2nd generation are not 5G compatible but the 3rd generation (2020) does have 5G.
Sorry PM is a prepaid service so no refund but unfortunately the 3G plans are phased out. You can only get 4G/LTE or 5G plans because 3G will be decommissioned in 2025.
All existing members on 3G are grandfathered until 3G is decommissioned.
Just login to your account and change your plan on your next renewal date. If you switch plan NOW, you will be charged for the 5G plan plus your new plan.
