Connected to public Mobile yesterday but can’t send or receive calls or texts. Why is that?

Data does not work. I still have my old SIM card. I kept my same phone number from my old carrier

Does data work?
Did you port over a number to Public mobile? If you did port, did you respond "yes" to the port request text from your old carrier? Did you remove your old carrier SIM card? or inactivate old carrier eSIM?
