Network compatibility of international Pixel 4 model

I am moving to British Columbia from the UK and I'll be bringing my UK model Pixel 4 (model G020M) with me. I'd like to use Public Mobile when I arrive but I just wanted to verify that the phone will work on the network.

The bands I have on the phone are:

  • GSM/EDGE: Quad-band (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
  • UMTS/HSPA+/HSDPA: Bands 1/2/4/5/8
  • LTE: Bands B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/17/20/25/26/28/32/38/39/40/41/66/71

Comparing with the North American model it looks like I'm missing LTE bands 14, 18, 19, 29, 30 46 and 48. Of those I think only 29 and 30 are used by the Telus network - do you think that would be an issue?

Thanks!

@calluna602 you are right. Out of the list of missing LTE bands, only B29 and B30 are used in Canada.

B29 is downlink only, used for Carrier Aggregation to increase download speeds in certain areas where you don't have coverage of B7.

B30 is not that common, and doesn't have great coverage to begin with.

You are totally fine in terms of coverage with the bands on your pixel. Welcome to Canada and good luck!

@calluna602  All Google Pixel phones are unlocked and will  work with Public Mobile without any issues.

@calluna602 yes its compatible. These are PMs bands.

Public Mobile 3G & 4G Frequencies.
3G Frequencies 850 MHz, Band 5 (UMTS/ HSPA).1900MHz, Band 2 (UMTS/ HSPA).

4G Frequencies 1700/ 2100 MHz AWS, Band 4 (LTE/ LTE Advanced).
                             700 MHz A/B/C/E, Band 12/13/17/29 (LTE/ LTE Advanced).

As you can see you have bands 2, 4 and 5. Welcome to Canada and to PM. Stay safe.
