@Austin_YQU  he tried a different sim in his phone and it worked

Be sure to insert the sim card the metal side down, not the other way out.

Thanks I'll do that. Just seemed unlikely but everything else is ruled out and sim is not recognized on 2 phones.

Good question

My pm account says I was charged. Looks that way.

@4x4albert lol, No I mean clean the metal part of the SIM. wipe it down with a cloth or microfibre cloth if possible.

Never recognized the sim so don't think I can delete contacts from it as none were saved to it

@4x4albert  try these tricks to restart your phone service. You could try in order:
1. Restarting your phone. Turn your phone off, wait 30 seconds and restart.
2.Putting your phone on aeroplane mode for 5 minutes. Take it off and restart.
3.From your self service account enable the lost/ stolen feature log out, wait 5  minutes, log in and take it off. Log out and restart your phone.
4. Add a one time payment and of $2 To your account and restart your phone .

If these tricks don't work contact a moderator and ask them to reset your SIM. Click on the green questionmark in the white circle at the bottom right of your screen.  This connects to the autobot Simon.  Type moderator and follow the prompts to get to one (CLICK on "Account specific question" and  "No I want a human" and "Submit a ticket Click me!")
Once connected, you will be asked to log in again with your community user name and password.  Please do, this allows you to continue and send your message.
Check your private message sent box (click on the envelope top right of your screen) to make sure the message was sent. Also keep an eye on the envelope, the mods answer will show up there.
You can also enable email notification to receive a private message notification sent to your email.
Go into your community account > my settings > PREFERENCES > Private Messenger > enable "Receive email notifications for new private messages" > Save

Stay safe.

If no sim is detected I'm not given any network options

@4x4albert hi I am curious when you made your account were you charged on your card did you get a confirmation email?

4x4albert
Good Citizen / Bon Citoyen

It seems to be a bad sim. It doesn't work on other phones, unrecognized

@4x4albert try wiping the contacts of the SIM and trying it again. if it still doesn't work you can get a new SIM card and change it in your self serve account

I have tried the pm sim in another phone and it didn't recognize.

I tried a different sim in my phone and it did recognize.

Problem must be with the sim.

How do I get another and a reset on my time or refund?

@Naepalm  Calculated guess. 🤔 Most of the time when a sim cannot register on the network is because it's been blacklisted.

@geopublic i agree with what your saying but he said he's been using it on another network so it doesn't seem like he just bought it unless he didn't finish paying for it

@iliketotalk  Hopefully @4x4albert  can answer that, or maybe his IMEI was accidently blacklisted.

Makes sense I think you can find out if it is as well right.

@4x4albert did you try manually selecting the network?

Well chatted with samsung.

My phone is unlocked but not recognizing the public mobile sim.

It is recognising a different sim from a friends phone.

Does this mean I need a new public mobile sim?

@4x4albert  Your phone is blacklisted that is why it can't register on the network. Where did you purchase that phone from? I hope not from a stranger.

@geopublic  how can you tell its black listed? Did they give you the IME#

@4x4albert  you can always do a factory reset. Backup your contacts first.

@4x4albert can you try your SIM in another phone to see if it works there?  This would tell if its a phone or SIM problem. Thanks.

@4x4albert Im pretty sure your phone is unlocked. check with Samsung, but It might be a hardware problem with your phone. try manually changing your network.

Open Settings>Connections>mobile networks>network operators>search for networks>tap the network you would like(Public Mobile)
or you can let it automatically search for the network

then restart your phone

Yes I tried your solutions.

No joy

I'll try Samsung next about the unlock but as I said it worked with an after market carrier before so I don't think that's it.

Thank you for your help
