If you have an Android, uninstall and reinstall Google Message and try again
If you have iPhone, remove the phone number from Settings menu. Reboot phone and go back to manually put the phone number back and test

Hi. Phone call and data have no problems. I did network reset, but still the same. When I check phone information by *#*#4636#*#*, it still shows carrier & uicc the old number. IMS with new number.
may public mobile need to do reset at its end.?

can you confirm you can end and receive phone calls without issue? if so, then it is just a phone Message app issue
are you using Android or iPhone?
first, try Reboot phone and Reset Network settings
