Hi all!
I've just moved into a new condo and I'm trying to set up the intercom. I've been told by my condo board that my number is long distance, I guess since I set up my account in a different city. I tried changing my address on my profile but I'm not sure if that will be enough- is there any way to make my number a local number without changing it completely?
Thanks!

@will13am wrote:@Sarahp42 , all Public Mobile plans include unlimited Canada wide calling. That should cover you for the intercom system. By the way the address used in the account has no impact at all. The phone number you have in the account determines local as far as calls are concerned.
@will13am @Sarahp42 I read this as her condo's intercom won't dial her number because it is long distance. If this is the case she will have no choice but to change her number to a local one.

Just wondering. Is there not another way?
A dummy land line? A voip line?
I am thinking your current number is well established?
And if any number that’s transparent to everyone else then a voip line can be free or a few cents per intercom use.

@Sarahp42 long distance or not depends on the area code, not the profile on your My Account.
whch city your condo in and which area code? did you try to add the number to your condo intercome? Sometimes, condo board just like old area code and ignore others, but other area codes overlay in the same city might work
worst case, you might need to login to My Account and change phone number to a compaitble area code
