Hello, trying to use a MiFi device, the Inseego M2000. Telus sells this device and it 'should' work on their network. I'm not getting an 'invalid sim' message so I don't believe this is a locked device issue. Can anyone help?

Wanted to follow-up based on all the helpful assistance that was provided to my initial question. There must have been something wrong (as predicted) with the M2000, or a signal band incompatibility. I've since acquired an inseego M3000 (Mifi Pro X), installed the Public Mobile sim card, and with a simple APN change it works instantly and without issue.

But, if compatible, would a listing of LTE and 5G networks propagate after a network scan? Because they most certainly do! (Telus, Rogers, Bell, Freedom, even U.S. carriers as I'm along the border.)

It 'SHOULD' not even need that, merely reading the APN off the sim card and selecting the network automatically, but there's something getting in the way of either process, automatic or manual.
APN settings are unrelated to the network connection selection. Even if the APN settings were wrong (or even blank), connecting to the base network would still be possible if the device were compatible and the service active (although correct APN settings would be needed to use the cellular data services).

I can certainly type the proper APN, but that's the ONLY thing I can manually enter, not the other details (MMSC, MMS, etc...) But yet... it still doesn't work. Would we agree that the fact that it can scan the network and see the signal of the various providers (I live in Windsor so I'm even getting a pair of U.S. providers) means there's something else amiss here? The device can clearly communicate in LTE and 5G?

Proper APN is the key to any mobile data connection
if neither the 2 Telus selection gives you the correct APN for PM and you cannot make manual change, then your device won't work on this network. Sorry about that

Even if when it scans for networks it finds them? (See screenshot in other reply)

Unfortunately, the device doesn't allow the editing of all those entries, just APN. As you'll note from the screenshot, the devices successfully scans for networks, but selecting the Public Mobile network (it came up once) still resulted in no signal. I'm trying to find a way to upgrade the firmware. Can't think of much else to try... (Turning of 5G in an attempt to connect LTE didn't work... Telus sim card didn't work, though I'm apt to try that again with the proper Telus APN.

APN is incorrect, should be
APN: sp.mb.com
MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mb/mmsc
MMSC proxy: mmscproxy.mobility.ca
MMS port: 8799
MCC: 302
MNC: 220
APN Type: default,supl,mms

according to the spec

the phone does not have n66 on 5G , which is very important to be used on 5G

In the About, the APN is currently set to isp.telus.com

PM is using Telus network but since it is a tier 3 carrier, it is more restricted in terms of device support
And test with a Telus sim from friends, just to make sure it actually works on Telus network and if the device is still carrier locked

I will have to inquire with the vendor who sold it. That said, M2000 works with Telus as they sell it for commercial internet use, so wouldn't it have the necessary bands?

hi @jpbonadonna1977 the device does not have the bands required on this network
which network it was used before?
