I purchased my SIM at a Walmart, and the employee didn't mention the promotion.

Hi there,

I see the wait times for customer service chats are really long, and knowing that this service is community driven, I thought I would ask this here.

I purchased a Public Mobile Sim yesterday, and when I went into the Walmart, I spoke with the gentlemen at the cellular desk. He didn't mention the current promotion ($20.00 credit + free SIM @ Walmart).

I went through with the purchase and everything, and then about an hour later when I went to setup my account and Googled Public Mobile, bam, there was the promotion. 

I went back to the Walmart and the gentlemen was kind enough to give me a Walmart Gift Card for the value of the SIM card. However, will I receive the credit of $20.00 for the purchase at Walmart even if I didn't mention it when I signed up? I know it says up to 72 hours, but just wondering if that will actually happen.

@MacM ok, thanks. 

Seems like some people are clever, and sign up for a simpler plan, and then upgrade. Kinda defeats the purpose of the limit to only Talk & Text, but oh well.

Sorry, should have mentioned this earlier. I signed up for the promotion $40.00 4GB data plan.

You sure? When I read the promotion it didn't say anywhere it excluded plans that had data. And when I looked at the various plans on the website, it didn't seem to categorize plans as "Talk + Text" and non Talk + Text.

Which plan did you sign up for?  The promotion is for talk and text plans only, not ones with data.
