I can receive SMS but not send them. I've never had this issue before I feel like maybe it's related to Mass texting? I was able to send text just recently on this phone I've tried resetting network settings reset settings and factory reset but to no avail. Please help me

I don't suppose you're on the old 50/50 plan?

Can you go into the settings for the messaging app and if it's anything like mine, tap More settings, then Text messages, then see what you have for Message Centre. It should be +16475800172.

Also, as someone asked earlier, is it when you're texting a particular number? Have you tested SMS to other numbers?

@Deeschmizz

did you try your PM sim card on another phone?

And on this phone, try to install another Messaging App,albeit Google Message and see if it works

If you turn off data and wi-fi, then try sending the SMS, does it work, @Deeschmizz  ?

@Deeschmizz :

If you're trying to send or receive group texts, that requires MMS. And MMS requires that you have mobile data enabled on your phone. So if you were only having problems when sending and receiving group texts, maybe your mobile data was turned off at that point (?).

Just a guess. But since you mentioned SMS was working and you mentioned mass texting, that's the first thing that came to my mind.

(Unlike MMS, SMS does not require that your mobile data be turned on).

What's the message you get when you try to send text ?

Is it just one person you're texting or does it fail to send to anyone ?

If just one...maybe the text goes ok, but receiver has problems on his end.

Could be related to iMessage or Chat messaging settings, depending on iPhone or Android:

If Android, try adjusting Chat messages options.

  1. tap Messaging app,
  2. tap 3 little dots top right,
  3. select Settings,
  4. under Chat settings, scroll to "Select default messaging type",
  5. toggle it to Automatic or Text/multimedia msg

For Apple, adjust the iMessage settings:

  1. tap the Settings app,
  2. tap Messages,
  3. turn  iMessage off by toggling the switch to grey from green.
