How does US roaming package work?

If I buy the unlimited US roaming package for $30, how do I activate the first day of usage?

The add-on starts as soon as you buy it. You can call most any US or Cdn numnber while the add-on is in effect (360 hours). Text and 5GB’s data will be usable. You MUST have the VoLTE certified call otherwise talk will fail but text and data will still work. When you get to US border, you’ll get a Welcome to USA message with a nag to buy talk minutes… you can ignore that message.

US data has a 15 or 30 days expiry, it will start right after the purchase is completed successfully.  So, you can wait till closer to your trip to buy it

A reminder, when you are in US, make sure your phone connects to T-Mobile, Verizon or AT&T network.
If it does not connect automatically, then change the Network connection to Manual and try each network manually for one that works.  

If you roaming purchase includes data, make sure you enable Roaming Mobile Data on your phone. 
You might want to change network mode to 4G/LTE  for easier connection, but leaving it as Automatic or 5G should work as well

If your roaming purchase includes voice, as US has decommissioned the 3G network for voice calls, your phone has to be VoLTE compatible with PM network to receive calls in US.  You can confirm it using the IMEI checker here:
