BTW: I came across this Koodo prepaid annual plan, which is excellent value:
koodomobile.com/en/prepaid-plans
$159.00 / year (365 days) | $13.25 / 30 days
Talk - Unlimited Canada-wide Calling
Text - Unlimited International Text & Picture Messaging (SMS and MMS)
Data - 40 GB of Data, 4G speeds up to 100 Mbps. All data is given up front for 365 days (averaging 3.3 GB / month) [Data limits must be set on the phone] (For comparison, I only have 1 GB per month. When managed properly, that's actually quite a lot.)
Calling features: Voicemail, Call display, Call waiting, Call forwarding, Conference calling

This is frustrating. I'm trying to help a friend switch from a $40 plan to the advertised $25 plan after realizing the $40 plan was more than he needed. His account simply won't allow him to select the lower-priced option. With prices increasing and customer flexibility decreasing, Public Mobile is no longer offering the value it once did. Preventing existing customers from moving to lower-cost plans while advertising those same plans to new customers is disappointing and feels unfair. I honestly didn't expect Public Mobile to adopt this approach. Unless this policy changes, it's becoming difficult to recommend Public Mobile as the best choice anymore.

You can change your plan to plans available on your account ONLY!

If desired plan is NOT visible on your account that means it is NOT available to you and even talking to agent you cannot get it.

Some plans are available to NEW customers only and sometimes some nice plan are offered to existing customers.

not all providers allow you to freely choose different plans anymore.

But you can always move out to another carrier for a cheaper plan.  If you don't like it, move it again.  porting is easy

@LeeP3

PM has made it difficult to switch to a lower priced plan. You just have to login your account and check about once a month. With any luck, a lower priced plan may show up in your account.

My plan now is 35$ and I want to switch back to the 25$ plan I wad on before but it only gives me options for more expensive plans when I try to change plan

hi @LeeP3

what plan do you have now?

downgrade is possible, but sometimes it is harder, or you have to wait.

but if you have a plan less than $30, you might not get any downgrade option
