You need to activate the SIM online and either pick a new number or port your old number from another carrier.
If you picked a new number, reboot your phone by powering it off then power back on.
If you are porting, you have to leave the old SIM in your phone and confirm to the text that you are porting over to PM. Power off the phone then swap the SIM then power the phone back on.

@Brattie88 Are you trying to change SIM cards? Log into your account and select Change SIM from the Quick Link option on the top right hand side of page and follow prompts to add the new SIM card number and select your verification method.
