It's official ... I'm back over to FreedomMobile.

The PublicMobile experience was good, but seems FreedomMobile has the plan that has more data and Canada/USA calling. The $59 plan was on sale for $50, and when we get another family member onto the account, i will have it down to $45 (old better together discount).

Here is what is signed up for:

Rate plan	Promo Everywhere 50 8GB ($50/mo)
Talk	Unlimited calls to Canada & the U.S.
Text	Unlimited text/MMS to Canada & the U.S. Unlimited global text/MMS. Unlimited Canada/U.S. picture/video texting
Data	8GB (full speed). Away (From Anywhere in CAN/U.S.), 1 GB full-speed data, 2400 minutes of calling to Canada and the U.S., Unlimited global text.

I will keep the community forum account here to keep in touch with members and watch for annoucements, etc, but wanted to let the powers that be at PublicMobile know another carrier listened. More data, no hassles having to buy addon's, and can use in more countries. Hoping you see the light PublicMobile. It s good thing going here, but please please take the opporutunity to make it the best. 🙂

Would be nice. 8GB would be even nicer per 30 days, if the price is decent. (like $60 every 30 days)

In my opinion, PM's 18 gig/90 day plan, is NOT a promo. This will always be 18 gigs because NO ONE will pay $50/month for 3g speeds unless they get extra data.

It's so sad that a big company like Telus/PM is not doing anything to compete with Shaw/FM. I am sure PM is losing more customers right now than they are gaining. PM, please get your head out from under the sand and show everyone you can stand up and fight. 🙂 Thanks. 🙂

What I am saying is that LTE in ottawa using B4 is just horrible, the max you can get is 15 DL and maybe 8 UP if you are lucky assuming you are in B4 coverage area. Unlike B66 which seems to be bringing very good speeds and latency . All of this is assuming your are not downtown in rush hours, which let us just say unusable

The problem with that is That I do not have any of those codes (I dont know anyone working with them) and I dont want to pay a 100 dollars for them

With Freedom at end of June, in my Markham neighborhood of 14th and McCowan I drove around all the residential streets with no LTE. Only got LTE when close to 407 or hwy 7. I called Wind and they said I am too far from tower and they have no plan for new ones in the next 12 months

OFC it is not going to be always bad, most of people people here have a lag of 1 year and they do not know how much their network improved, unless they know some people with freedom service. That being said, the service is still bad in Ottawa (improved from horrible) but still LTE shouldnt even called that, with them only offering B4 it is really not worth it for someone like me, who also started traveling frequently to Quebec. Downtown LTE speed on freedom still around 10-15 at best. So for now I will just go ahead and keep waiting...

Freedom Mobile is doing well. Ever since the one day PM promotion, FM has been discounting their plans. I noticed that the FM stores are extremely busy compared to Koodo and the other carriers. PM pushed FM into a corner and FM came out swinging. FM is now stealing customers away from the other carriers.

My experience so far has been excellent. Richmond Hill/Markham areas. Went to CNE (Toronto Lakeshore/Marylin Bell Park) yesterday for the air show. Everything worked.

Listen.... There is no question that PM/Telus has the better and bigger network. But people don't realize that FM's network has improved so much and is only going to get better in the near future. 🙂

I was on the FM LTE plan from Dec.2016 to June 2017. They say most of GTA has LTE coverage but there are big holes all over the place. I would say 50% of Toronto is covered while their map says 100%. If you are too far from a tower you get 3G or sometimes no signal at all.
