Going abroad for One Month

Hi. My husband and I are going abroad for one month and the country we're going to public mobile doesn't work. Our plan is $60 per 30 days. I'd like to know

- can we put a hold on our services and not pay for the month we're away?

- the due dates we auto pay public mobile is a few day before we leave Canada. We like to keep our services until the last day we're in Canada. Will this affect the service? If so, how can we fix this?

Thanks for your help!

You could do it now and if you change your mind re add it. I would do 48 hours.

Is there any deadline for canceling my auto pay, such as 24 or 48 hours before the payment due date?

@Sherry1313 If you do decide to be "cell-less" a few days try an application like that from fongo.com. It provides free calling across Canada from wherever you are connected to wifi. Google hangouts too.

If you disable autopay you have 90 days from last day of service to reactivate.

Reactivating usually just involves adding funds. If service does not restart then you need to get mods to reactivate for you.

No new sim etc is needed

If I stop the payment,

- is my sim card canceled and i have to re-set up everything when i come back to Canada?

- or i just pay and my service will restart?

I don't want to redo everything from the beginning just because I want to save money.

@mimmowrote:

@will13am  are you really suggedting to go without phone /data service for a couple days?  It was hard enough traveling the road to Tofino yesterday without cell coverage. 🙂

But in all seriousness @Sherry1313 I agree with William. Or just renew one line and let the other one not renew.

Have a great trip whereever you are going.

Slow internet is infuriating, no internet is blissful quiet.  I recall a few dead spots on the road to Tofino, but it was not that bad.  The driving is rather spirited for the most part.  Not like texting and driving is remotely doable.

@Sherry1313, if you can tolerate the loss of service for a few days, just stop the payment so you don't renew.  Otherwise, you will end up paying for practicality the entire duration you are away.

You can not pause service. So if you want service until you leave you will need to renew for 30 days.  Then disable autopay and when you return add funds to re enable the service.
