Hello, I currently use my device for work related functions and my employer has referred me to speak to my service provider regarding the global protect app unable to connect while on data but connects fine when I’m on wifi. Global protect is a software program that connects me remotely to my work system

I use Cloudflare on all my phones as noted by @slusagm.
It is a free app download and you can customize when the VPN automatically enabled (Public wifi) and disabled (home and office wifi).

you tried Reboot phone and click Reset network settings?
And which carrier you used before that was working?

I feel you man. I know what you mean. I was unable to log into my work as well using PM Data. There was nothing they could do. However, I used a VPN to get around it. That worked for me. There are plenty of free VPN's out there. Give it a try and let us know.
